We have updated the web site with new art work.

Last summer Derek and Christina had two paintings each selected into the Marin County Fair Fine Arts Exhibit.

Derek's painting of the North Beach SF won second place in the Acrylic Painting Division. His painting is currently on display in the office of McGinnis Chen Associates Architects San Francisco CA.

Biography of Derek Bigard


Derek Bigard


Born March 11, 1955 BFA California College of the Arts Oakland 1980. California State General Contractors License 1984 Father of five sons.


Derek Bigard has been an artist as long as he can remember. His commitment to continuing education and appreciation of the arts is paramount. Derek has taught in the Oakland school district, served as counselor and teacher at the Oakland Feather River Arts Camp and has had exhibitions throughout the Bay Area. Along with producing his personal works, he has participated in numerous mural projects in the San Francisco Bay area. In 2006 Derek lead a team of Bay Area artist in attending the Cuban Mural Internos project where they participated in an international mural collaboration. Two Murals were produced in Santiago de Cuba, which is considered to be one of the world's top mural cities. Derek is a firm believer in community art and committed himself to producing public art in the San Francisco Bay Area.


Mr. Bigard has been a co-principal artist for the following mural projects: Elk To Bart Tracks Mural Project, Berkeley California Oakland Housing Project Mural Panels, Oakland California Oakland Housing Signage Project, Oakland California Levania Dejon Middle School Mural Project, Richmond California Cuban Internos Project, Santiago de Cuba Marin Museum of the American Indian, Novato California, (principal artist)

Christina Cowger - Bigard, M.A.


After discovering her brother's oil paints at eleven years old, painting became a passion for Christina. As a young girl Christina would pay friends to model for her paintings.


While attending Syracuse University Christina was active in Media Arts and received her B.F.A in 1987. After graduating Christina was instrumental in the movement of Media Art as an art form. She was an assistant to the Curator of Media Arts at the Long Beach Museum of Art and worked on a nationally touring media exhibition, The Art o f Music Video. After working with the Long Beach Museum, Christina moved to the Bay Area where she worked with the Mill Valley Film Festival curating the video component of the festival.


Her fine art works range from large scale murals at vineyards on Eastern Long Island to coffee shops in San Francisco. Recently Christina and her husband Derek completed a mural for Miwok Park in Novato California.


Currently Christina has a home studio and works with large scale oil on wood board. Her favorite themes are people and found objects in nature.
